CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer single-handedly prevented the timely reporting of the Iowa caucus results by nagging a precinct secretary to stay on the line during a phone interview on the air.
Shawn Sebastian, a precinct secretary in Story County, Iowa, told Blitzer he had been on hold with the Iowa Democratic Party for more than an hour waiting to report his results. A party official finally answered the phone in the middle of Sebastian’s conversation with the CNN host, who urged him to let the network listen in as he reported the results.
