President Trump and his 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale on Tuesday slammed the Iowa Democratic Party’s botched handling of their caucus.
“The Democrat Caucus is an unmitigated disaster,” the commander in chief tweeted Tuesday morning, “Nothing works, just like they ran the Country. Remember the 5 Billion Dollar Obamacare Website, that should have cost 2% of that. The only person that can claim a very big victory in Iowa last night is ‘Trump.’”
On Monday night, issues with a new smartphone app commissioned by the IDP for reporting the results of the crucial, first-in-the-nation caucus severely delayed the vote count in the bellwether contest.
As of early Tuesday, the IDP has still not released the results.
Precinct chairs across the Hawkeye State experienced problems downloading or logging into the app — one of the ways they were supposed to be able to send the results from their smaller, individual caucuses to the IDP, Bloomberg News reported.
“Democrats are stewing in a caucus mess of their own creation with the sloppiest train wreck in history. It would be natural for people to doubt the fairness of the process. And these are the people who want to run our entire health care system?” Brad Parscale said in a statement.
“Tonight President Trump posted a record performance in the well-run GOP Iowa caucuses with record turnout for an incumbent,” he added, referencing Trump’s landslide win in the state’s Republican caucus also on Monday night.
