ABC Touts Christian Magazine Notorious for Opposing Trump

When it comes to the leftist media, their disdain for and ignorance towards Christians is palpable. Unless of course, they stumble upon a Christian with liberal positions because that way they can be utilized as a tool to suit their political narrative. If you fit the bill, may the love fest commence! ABC was the latest network guilty of this nauseating posturing.

Viewers of ABC would attest to the infrequency with which the magazine Christianity Today is cited on its airwaves. The total has now reached twice over the past three years, both times to invoke anti- Trump pieces found within the publication’s pages.

Friday’s Good Morning America featured the second shout-out to the magazine as co-host George Stephanopoulos could not resist an opportunity to degrade President Trump’s approval ratings among Christians: “Meantime Jon, we also saw overnight the Evangelical magazine Christianity Today coming out with an editorial saying the President should be removed from office.”

Chief White House Correspondent Jon Karl picked up the baton from there:

Yeah, this is interesting. This was the publication founded by Billy Graham, the late Evangelical leader and in the editorial they write, “unsavory dealings and immoral acts by the President and those close to him have rendered this Administration morally unable to lead. They want him removed from office…”

ABC’s last mention of the publication before Friday morning was in 2016 on Nightline, a mere few days before the election to capitalize on a seething anti-Trump op ed:

In a scathing op ed in “Christianity Today,” which is one of the top Evangelical magazines, they proclaimed, quote, “enthusiasm for a candidate like Donald Trump gives our neighbors ample reason to doubt that we believe Jesus is Lord.”

To further the motif of Trump’s supposed inability to connect with women voters, Christianity Today editor Katelyn Beaty said to ABC in 2016; “You saw Christian women leaders who don’t typically weigh in on politics starting to weigh in and coming forward.” And; “I’m concerned when I see these leaders continuing to support Trump, that they are actually forsaking their responsibility to uphold the dignity of women for political expedience.”

Readers of “Christianity Today” would most likely find its inclusion of another anti- Trump op ed about as surprising as a Trump hit piece featured on ABC, which is to say not very.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Meantime Jon, we also saw overnight the Evangelical magazine “Christianity Today” coming out with an editorial saying the President should be removed from office.

JON KARL: Yeah, this is interesting. This was the publication founded by Billy Graham, the late Evangelical leader and in the editorial they write, unsavory dealings and immoral acts by the President and those close to him have rendered this Administration morally unable to lead. They want him removed from office. Now, Billy Graham’s son Franklin Graham has reacted to this by saying that his father, who died last year, would be embarrassed by this editorial and he says that his dad voted for Donald Trump.
