The New Orleans Saints’ jack-of-all-trades quarterback/running back/wide receiver/special teams ace is serving up a heaping helping of big plays in his team’s 26-18 win against the division rival Atlanta Falcons on Thanksgiving night.
His box score-filling performance includes a blocked punt, a catch-and-run score and a touchdown run. This all happened in the first half as the Saints built a 17-9 lead en route to clinching the NFC South division title.
After the Saints defense held the Falcons to a three-and-out in their first offensive drive, Hill blocked Ryan Hill’s punt and New Orleans recovered at Atlanta’s 30-yard line. Three plays later, Hill took a Drew Brees shovel pass in for a score.
Then, just after the two-minute warning in the second quarter, Hill lined up at quarterback on a third-and-1 play, took the snap and scampered 30 yards for another touchdown. Brees’ reaction to the play also was tremendous.
